Dedicated to providing critical medical care for children in need, Emergency Medical Instruction & Consulting collaborates closely with the Zain Xander Foundation. Together, we strive to ensure that every child with a serious illness receives the necessary treatment and support.

How EMIC partnership with Zain Xander Foundation assisted a family
Case Overview: Alia Journey
In October 2025, EMIC became aware of a pediatric medical crisis involving Alia, an infant in Guyana who required life-saving surgical procedure unavailable locally. When local medical facilities advised seeking care abroad, the family faced impossible barrier: they lacked medical, logistical, and financial resources to navigate international treatment independently.

Medical Assessment
Comprehensive case review and coordination with physicians to assess treatment feasibility. U.S.-based care was initially estimated at $2.4-$2.7 million USD.
International Coordination
Identified India as medically appropriate and financially accessible option. Facilitated hospital placement, medical documentation transfer, and alignment of clinical expectations.
Fundraising and Logistics
Provided fundraising guidance and managed international travel planning. Approximately $32,000 USD was successfully raised through combined efforts.
Ongoing Advocacy
Provided continuous oversight including daily family communication, medical updates coordination, and support for housing and essential needs.

EMIC has partnered with MVP Health Care to bring specialized first aid training to families and caregivers throughout the region.
New Parent and Caregiver First Aid
This specialized course is designed for new parents, guardians, and caregivers who want to be prepared for pediatric emergencies. Participants learn essential first aid techniques tailored to infants and children, including CPR, choking relief, wound care, and recognition of common pediatric emergencies.

Allstate Community CPR Partnership
EMIC is proud to partner with the local Allstate office of Randy Pascarella to provide bi-weekly CPR and life-saving skills classes to the Schenectady community.
Bi-Weekly CPR Classes in Schenectady
These classes are designed to make high-quality, hands-on training accessible to families, professionals, and community members in a comfortable neighborhood setting. Classes are held the 1st and last Thursday of every month with small, instructor-led sessions.

Classes are taught by experienced instructors with backgrounds in EMS, fire service, and law enforcement. No prior medical experience is required for the community course.
Union College Partnership (2019-2025)
EMIC had a successful partnership with Union College to provide emergency medical training and preparedness education to students and the broader Schenectady community.
Community CPR Training Initiative - Impact Summary
Through our successful partnership with Union College's Kenney Center for Community Engagement and Outreach, EMIC provided accessible CPR training to over 500 community members, including students and Schenectady residents. This initiative strengthened campus safety and empowered the community with life-saving skills during its tenure.
HeyDocta International Medical Coordination
EMIC has established a strategic partnership with HeyDocta to support pediatric patients from Guyana who require specialized medical care overseas.
International Medical Support Program
This humanitarian partnership creates a structured pathway for children under sixteen years old in Guyana to access lifesaving and advanced medical care overseas when such care is not available locally. EMIC provides comprehensive logistical coordination and support throughout the patient's medical journey.
EMIC's Role in the Partnership:
- •International Medical Coordination: Liaison with international hospitals and surgeons
- •Travel & Immigration Support: Guidance on visas, travel documents, and safe flight arrangements
- •Pre-Travel Preparation: Lodging coordination, vaccination checklists, and cultural orientation
- •Case Management: Real-time communication with families throughout treatment and recovery
- •Fundraising Support: Assistance with structuring campaigns and donor communication
- •Post-Treatment Planning: Follow-up care coordination and return-to-home support
This partnership is entirely humanitarian and non-financial. EMIC provides all logistical and planning services at no cost to HeyDocta, patients, or their families, demonstrating our commitment to global health equity and compassionate care.
