With extensive background in law enforcement, paramedicine, fire rescue, and emergency management, our founder has worked across both public and private sectors to deliver practical, real-world emergency training.
As a subject matter expert, our founder consults for multiple academic institutions and holds instructor credentials from six nationally recognized certifying bodies. This deep expertise forms the foundation of everything we do at EMIC.

Senior Intern
She/Her
Leah Rajwant is a Senior Intern with Emergency Medical Instruction & Consulting. She is a senior at Union College majoring in Biology with a minor in Psychology and is concurrently enrolled in the Mohawk Valley Health System Paramedic Program. She is expected to graduate from both institutions in June 2026.
Career Interests: Leah's primary career interest is in medicine and healthcare, with long-term goals of expanding her scope of practice in emergency medicine through advanced clinical pathways, including nursing, advanced practice, or medical school.
Role: In her role as Senior Intern, Leah provides administrative support to fellow interns and assists instructors with teaching and training initiatives. She is especially interested in mentorship, learning from experienced healthcare professionals, and sharing knowledge through education and instruction.
Background: As a first-generation college student, Leah was drawn to this internship for the structured guidance it offers and the opportunity to strengthen skills in communication, public speaking, and time management. She hopes to further develop her professional network through this experience.
Intern – Communications & Coordination

Abrianna Subhan is an intern with Emergency Medical Instruction & Consulting and a sophomore at Union College, where she is pursuing a B.A. in Psychology on a pre-health track with a minor in Political Science. She is expected to graduate in June 2028.
Career Interests: Abrianna is exploring a range of healthcare and mental health career paths, including nursing, physician assistant studies, and graduate training in psychology. Her academic interests include clinical, developmental, and educational psychology, with long-term goals of attending graduate school and potentially earning a doctoral degree.
Role: In her internship role, Abrianna supports communication and coordination efforts, including scheduling, outreach, and logistical assistance. She was drawn to this internship for the mentorship it offers and the opportunity to gain exposure to multiple healthcare and mental health pathways.
Goals: Through this experience, Abrianna hopes to build strong professional relationships, expand her network, and gain hands-on exposure through shadowing across various clinical settings. Outside of her academic and professional work, she enjoys cooking and baking and has a particular love for horses.
Intern – Client Support

Ashley Prasad is an intern with Emergency Medical Instruction & Consulting and a sophomore at Union College, where she is pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Psychology on a Pre-Health track with a minor in Spanish. She is expected to graduate in June 2028.
Career Interests: Ashley's primary interests include clinical psychology, public health, and healthcare systems, with long-term goals of pursuing an advanced degree focused on research and clinical practice within psychology or healthcare.
Role: In her internship role, Ashley supports client services, assists with program delivery, and provides support to instructors during training sessions. She was drawn to EMIC for its mentorship-driven environment and the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in real-world, high-responsibility settings.
Goals: Through this experience, Ashley hopes to strengthen her professional communication skills, gain exposure to diverse healthcare and community-based environments, and build meaningful professional connections. Outside of work, she enjoys binge-watching TV shows and spending time with family and friends.
